Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid visited the Istana Besar on election night, spending around an hour and 45 minutes with Tuanku Muhriz before stepping out at 12.45am. He told reporters he had submitted three names from BN for the Menteri Besar post and that the ruler’s decision would be announced through the palace. He asked that parties show consideration for the outgoing MB in any arrangements regarding the official residence.
